Meet Michael

Early Life

Michael Bush was born an only child of two parents. Following suit in his family, he started in sports at a young age and was a student athlete all the way through high school. He learned to navigate the working world by watching his Mother, a contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense, and his Father, a sales representative and marketing manager, make ends meet through unstable circumstances. As mom and dad instilled values of discipline, humility, and compassion, Michael began his journey of community engagement as a neighbor looking to offer seasonal yard and housework services, and a youth volunteer for local nonprofits in the Greater Fredericksburg Area region. This helped Michael discover his unwavering passions of mentoring our youth, defeating homelessness, and protecting our climate.

Career

Michael is a Registered Financial Advisor for LPL Financial Services and a Licensed Life Insurance Agent. He has done a year of service with Americorps as a Middle School math teacher and sports coach. In the Spring of 2022, Michael earned the Dean’s Service Award at his college Graduation while obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with double minors in Leadership and Communication Studies. Throughout his time at Christopher Newport University, Michael was President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the seated chapter of Upsilon Beta, while committing 1200 hours of community service work through the Bonner Services Scholars program.
